Services
Senior Ride Program
The Senior Ride Program acknowledges that transportation plays a critical role in overall well-being, particularly in accessing healthcare services. A lack of reliable transportation can create significant barriers to medical care, leading to worsening health, social isolation, and a diminished quality of life.
This program provides free, non-emergency medical transportation for seniors and individuals with disabilities, offering door-to-door service to and from medical appointments.

Message from the Executive Director
Dear Friends and Supporters,

For over a century, Travelers Aid of Greater Birmingham has stood as a beacon of hope, providing assistance to individuals in need as they navigate life’s unexpected challenges. Whether helping a traveler find their way, supporting those displaced from their communities, or ensuring that seniors and individuals with disabilities reach essential medical appointments, our mission remains steadfast—offering compassion, dignity, and support to those who need it most.

For the past 30 years, our commitment to seniors and individuals with disabilities has grown stronger. Through our free transportation assistance program, we help ensure that our most vulnerable neighbors receive the medical care they depend on, removing transportation barriers and fostering independence. This service is more than just a ride—it’s a lifeline, a connection, and a promise that no one in our community is left behind.

As we continue our work in Birmingham, we are reminded daily of the power of community, resilience, and service. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, staff, donors, and community partners. Your support fuels our mission and makes a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact. We invite you to join us—whether through volunteering, advocacy, or financial support—to ensure that Travelers Aid continues to be a source of comfort and stability for those in need.

Thank you for your unwavering belief in our mission. Together, we can continue making Birmingham a city where no one is left without the support they need.
With gratitude,
Vetrica Hill
